Local Live Music This Halloweekend!

It’s not often Halloween falls on a SATURDAY NIGHT. Hope you’re planning to make the most of it - but make sure you pace yourself, because there’s cool stuff going on all weekend long! Here’s our guide to navigating the Halloweekend.

if you’re hitting the bar, going to a DJ night or cover band night, or a party, that’s cool - but if you’re on the lookout for some local live music events this weekend here’s what you can’t miss!

Friday October 30th: The Spooky Beaver Show w/ In Pieces, Felisha and the Jazz Rejects, Queenpin & Grrlzilla @ The Mezzanine

I really can’t think of a better place to kick off your weekend than at The Mezzanine, Mt. Pleasant dopest haunt. The Mezz is hosting a huge charity show, complete with art vendors, vegan desserts, prizes…oh, and some of the sickest bands the music scene has to offer. All funds raised go towards beaver conservation. A no-brainer, right? Well here’s the catch - presales are sold out. That doesn’t mean you can’t make it though! Very limited tickets available at the door so make sure you come through early!

Doors 7pm / Music 7:30pm / $20 / All Ages

Saturday October 31st: Gilla Band & Piss @ The Pearl

Yes, Gilla Band isn’t local. We promised you local. They’re great, their new album is fantastic and they put on an insane show. But for some local flavor, be absolutely sure you catch PISS. Without a doubt the most exciting band to emerge from the local scene the last few years, their long awaited return home celebrates the release of their debut record you made me / skin on linen. The powerhouse quartet are an unstoppable force of punk tinged hardcore with deeply emotional and rousing storytelling, and simply cannot be missed. Make sure you grab tickets in advance, this is gonna sell out.

Saturday October 31st: House Show w/ House of Glass, LSS and Zavien

There’s truly nothing better than a good house show. A rarity in this city, but House of Glass got you covered. The five-piece band recently dropped their debut EP, the excellent Good Luck Madeleine, and want to celebrate with you! Along for the ride are shoegaze/alt rockers LSS and rapper Zavien to round out a strong mixed genre bill. Message the bands for the address (or, y’know, ask-a-punk, the old school way) and get to the gig!

8pm / Free

For Fans Of: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snow Patrol, The Temper Trap

Sunday November 1st: Glitterbomb, Slowicide & Space Crash Echoes @ Green Auto Pop Up Stage

If you’re not too beat and hungover, you best be rippin’ over to Green Auto this Sunday for a stellar all femme fronted lineup of high energy punk and alt-rock, featuring the fierce punk-y sounds of Glitterbomb and Slowicide alongside Space Crash Echoes’ upbeat, groovy rock n’ roll. I know it’s gonna be a busy weekend, but make sure you save some energy for this one or you’re gonna regret it!
