To Do This Week: August 6-9th

Here’s a look at some of the coolest local music events worth checking out to fill out your week’s plans:

Thursday August 6th:

ISBN: Rooftop Rhythms w/ Isabel Leong @ VPL Central Library

If you’re looking to relax and settle into something on the lighter side this Thursday afternoon, look no further than your public library! On the south rooftop terrace (level 8) of VPL’s Central Library on West Georgia, multi-instrumentalist and Ghibli Jazz Orchestra bandleader Isabel Leong will be performing as part of a quartet, weaving through jazz standards and original compositions as part of Rooftop Rhythms, VPL’s self-described “jazz-ish” free concerts taking place throughout the summer!

2-3pm / All Ages / Registration Required (see below)

Friday August 7th:

Concrete Vehicles / Still Depths / Goodwife @ The Mezzanine

Come see off one of - if not the - single most exciting acts in Vancouver, experimental art-punkers Concrete Vehicles, before they head out on tour. The six-piece will be joined by fellow freak-punks Still Depths and the cool folk-y sweet sounds of Goodwife. If you’re still not convinced, you can grab a presale for only $10! You’re basically losing money if you don’t pull up.
