Immerse yourself in some local freaky pop from Reveal Yourself and Bunny Crossing, plus Portland’s Nick Normal and Dona Casque, coming all the way from France! Restraining Order / Meantime / Chemical World / Make It Right / Number One @ Tireland

One of the dopest hardcore punk acts out right now Restraining Order are hitting Vancouver in support of their latest record, putting together a killer bill at Tireland (1940 Main Street) of all places. Joined by Winnipeg’s Meantime and Number One, this is a great opportunity to check out some touring Canadian hardcore bands - plus locals Make It Right and Chemical World to round out the bill. Come support some dope touring acts and throw down!

Saturday August 22nd:

Venue Co-Op Presents: Everything But The Bagel II @ Red Gate Arts Society

True to the name, this all day mini-festival really has just about everything - live music from local bands Space Crash Echoes, Beastie, Tea Swamp and Muppet Boys, DJ sets, indie video game demos, open DJ decks, a film screening, harm reduction workshops, a barbecue, an open mic, an art zone - what more could you POSSIBLY want? Spread across multiple venues - Red Gate, Main & 3rd Plaza, Hargrove Studios, and Ethos Lab - this multi-media extravaganza, shockingly, is only $25 for a pass. That’s a lot of bang for your buck. A weird and wild mixed bill, when we say this bill has something for everyone, we really mean it. Featuring the indie folk sounds of The Hands of Burning Joe Ray, veteran Vancouver post-punkers Defektors, Great Shame’ scuzzy garage punk, Buck Nothin’s sun-drenched western sounds and Ratstar’s self-proclaimed “spunk rock,” you’re bound to find something you like AND something you’ve never heard before.

All Femme Fronted Folk Night @ The Heatley

If you’re looking for a low-key way to wind down your weekend, this show is for you. Featuring all femme artists - Micae, Emily Erhart and Ballyclaire, this is sure to be a beautiful showcase of some incredible songwriting and lyricism, and the perfect way to decompress ahead of another week!
